The Grannie

The legacy of our grandmothers to our mothers was dowry chests filled with craft skill and traditional craft products. This unique transfer of craft skills and craft work from one generation to another is about to disappear in this modern world as people are getting busier, have less time to produce these unique artworks and the technology offers more practical alternatives. The Grannie which has been founded by 4 women from different disciplines wants to take the responsibility to protect this cultural heritage and pass these values on to the next generation. Our responsibility is not only about transferring these values to younger generations but also supporting local craftswomen for their artwork.
