Nikon

Founded in Japan in 1917, Nikon Corporation initially operated as a company that produced optical lenses and camera lenses. During World War II, it developed optical equipment for the Japanese military. In the post-war period, it moved into consumer electronics and introduced the first professional SLR camera, the Nikon F, in 1959. Nikon has established itself as a world leader in DSLR and mirrorless cameras, telescopes, binoculars, and microscopes.
