Founded in Istanbul by Melek Aşık and Abdullah İçöz, Tehanu Lab, which takes its first part of its name from the novel of the same name by science fiction and fantasy writer Ursula K. Le Guin, is a brand that produces surface works produced with different techniques such as the terrazzo technique, as well as decorative product designs with 3D printer works. Trying to go beyond the ordinary in its field, excited and enjoying trying different materials, techniques, forms and colors to be and remain original, Tehanu Lab uses two separate composite materials, one based on plaster and one based on water, in the production of its handcrafted products; while providing coloring with acrylic paints and pigments, it uses EN 71-3 certified varnishes as a protector. Having a light and durable structure, 3D printer works are produced with PLA (Polylactic Acid), a completely organic biopolymer produced from products such as corn starch, sugar cane and sugar beet.
